Every woman responds differently to HRT. The time it takes to notice effects depends on your body's needs, the symptoms you're experiencing, and the type of HRT you're using.
For example, vaginal estrogen cream can provide relief from dryness and irritation almost immediately. In contrast, transdermal patches, creams, or tablets may take a few weeks to show initial benefits and up to three to six months for full effects.
Don't be discouraged if you don't see or feel immediate results.
It takes time for your body to get used to HRT, and you may experience temporary bloating, water retention, breast tenderness, and leg cramps as your body adapts to the influx of hormones.
Additionally, if you're taking an oral form of HRT, you may experience some nausea in the beginning. However, these side effects are temporary and should subside as your treatment progresses.
