If you’re looking for relief from your menopause symptoms, Winona suggests working directly with your Winona physician to clearly understand the pros and cons of any hormone replacement therapy (HRT) plan. Working together, you can decide which therapy is right for you. Winona offers HRT in the form of pills, creams and patches. Like with any prescription, the concentration of any form depends on your physician's recommendations.

  • Estrogen tablets — Pills are the most common treatment for menopausal symptoms, and Winona’s estrogens are all bioidentical and plant-based.

  • Estrogen patch — The patch is worn on the skin of your abdomen or buttocks and is replaced every few days.

  • Topical estrogen cream – Creams offer another effective way to deliver estrogen into your system. Just like with patches, this type of estrogen treatment is absorbed through the skin directly into the bloodstream. Winona’s creams are applied once a day (usually before bed).

  • Vaginal estrogen cream — Winona’s vaginal estrogen cream is specifically for women who deal with vaginal dryness, itching, and burning or pain during intercourse. Creams can be used daily, several times a week, or as needed.

  • Progesterone capsules: Prescribed to provide protection to the uterus when estrogen is prescribed (for those women with an intact uterus).

  • Topical progesterone cream: The cream is another way to deliver progesterone into your system. Also, it can be compounded with estrogen into one convenient cream.
