About

Progesterone Body Cream is a convenient and effective option for those who require progesterone as part of their hormone replacement therapy. This daily cream protects endometrial health.

Benefits

Winona’s Progesterone Body Cream regulates the effects of estrogen to reduce the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and help maintain uterine health.

  • Supports endometrial health

  • Reduces irregular bleeding

  • Promotes healthy uterine lining

How to Use

Apply the HRT cream topically to clean, dry, and hair-free skin, avoiding the face and breasts. Dispense a pea-sized amount (typically 2 pumps) as directed by your Winona physician.

Massage the cream into your skin for 10-15 seconds until fully absorbed. If the cream beads up, you may have used more than your skin can absorb; consider applying to different areas such as the forearms, abdomen, backs of the knees, or inner thighs.

Wash your hands after application, and allow the cream to absorb for 30 minutes before swimming or bathing.

FAQs

Q: What kind of hormones can I get in my cream?

A: Winona provides cream with estrogen, progesterone, or estrogen + progesterone. Your unique needs will dictate which cream your physician will prescribe. Most women taking estrogen are also prescribed progesterone. If you have a uterus, it's important to take progesterone alongside estrogen to mitigate the risk of overgrowth of uterine cells, which can lead to cancer. If you no longer have a uterus, it’s generally considered safe to take estrogen alone. If you need DHEA, you’ll be prescribed a capsule, as Winona does not offer DHEA in cream form.

Q: Is progesterone safe to take in the form of a cream?

A: There is ample data that when done correctly, progesterone in cream form can safely protect the uterine lining. The important thing is that the progesterone is micronized for better absorption in the body. With micronized hormones, there is optimal absorption with smaller doses required. Winona’s pharmacies ensure the highest safety, quality, and efficacy of all of our compounded treatments.

Q: What is the dosing of Winona’s HRT creams?

A: Each dose is personalized based on an individual’s unique situation and what the physician recommends. Your Winona doctor can provide additional information inside your secure Patient Portal once your medical intake is complete.

Q: Is progesterone cream safe for those with peanut allergies?

A: Yes, our progesterone cream is safe for women with peanut allergies.

Q: Why isn’t the bottle full?

A: While the bottle may not look full, it contains enough cream to last the expected amount of days. For example, there are 180 pumps in a 45g bottle for 90 days. If you’re prescribed two pumps per day, the 180 pumps will last the full 90-day period. The pharmacy tends to add a few extra doses of cream to each bottle just in case. If you’re still unsure about your supply, the other side of the label will indicate the supply duration (e.g., Day Supply: 90).
