Progesterone has a slight sedative quality to it and can help with insomnia when taken at night. However, there is a small percentage of women for whom progesterone causes a stimulating effect and may impact their dreams. The dreams may seem more vivid or more intense, or cause restlessness.
If this is the case, the solution is to adjust the time of day when you take progesterone, either by taking it earlier in the evening or switching to a daytime administration.
