Should estrogen doses in my HRT increase or decrease over time?

Will my dose of hormones ever need to be adjusted?

The answer is....it depends!

If you feel good with the dose of estrogen and/or progesterone that you are on, there is no rule that states you need to decrease your dose.

However, due to fluctuating hormone levels throughout the menopause transition, you may find that your symptoms change over time. They may become more severe or they may subside. Your Winona doctor may recommend an adjustment in your treatment plan to accommodate for those changes.

Most women choose to stay on HRT for approximately 5 years. During that time period, your HRT doses may change depending on your needs, and that's okay!

As always, your Winona doctor is your best resource regarding any questions you may have about your HRT treatment plan.
