Our physicians know that when prescribing estrogen, progesterone needs to be included as well. As estrogen levels drop with menopause so do progesterone levels. Progesterone’s job is to make sure the uterus stays lean and healthy. If you have a uterus, and are taking estrogen, progesterone must be added to keep the uterus healthy. If you do not have a uterus, you can take just estrogen.
