I have never had a weight issue, and then I suddenly started gaining weight as I entered the menopause transition. Which option is better, a GLP-1 medication or HRT?

Both treatments can help with weight loss.

GLP-1 medications are most applicable for chronic obesity - those with life-long weight issues.

HRT works well for weight gain related to the menopause transition. HRT works at the root cause of the problem by replacing the hormones that are no longer being produced by the ovaries.

Replenishing these hormones helps reverse the metabolic process that causes weight gain during this transition time. It also helps with the redistribution of weight away from the abdomen.

HRT does not require injections and is less invasive than the GLP-1 medications.
